Mitchell D. Dickson is the founder and managing attorney of Dickson Law Firm. He has practiced consumer bankruptcy law since 2014 and represents individuals and families in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases.
Before opening Dickson Law Firm in 2017, Mitchell represented bankruptcy debtors, served as a staff attorney to the standing Chapter 13 trustee in the Middle District of Louisiana, and represented national mortgage lenders and servicers in foreclosure proceedings. Working with debtors, the trustee, and mortgage creditors gave him a practical understanding of how each evaluates a case. He uses that perspective to identify potential issues early and give clients realistic advice about their options.
Mitchell's approach is straightforward: give clients an honest assessment of their situation, explain what to expect, and give each case the care it deserves.
Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University in 2009 and his Juris Doctor from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2013. Merit scholarships covered his tuition for both his undergraduate and legal education. He was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 2013 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Mitchell is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and serves on the editorial board of the Consumer Bankruptcy Journal, NACBA's official publication.
Mitchell moved to Louisiana in 2007 to attend LSU and decided to make the state his home. He now lives in Ascension Parish.
